At the Sept. 16 meeting, the Oelrichs School District 23-3 board recorded several program and personnel actions.
The BackPack Program will be implemented again this school year and a hearing screening was scheduled for students. Principal Peterson said Parent‑Teacher Conferences will be held Oct. 4. Three students applied to serve as South Dakota legislative pages through the sponsorship of Representative Trish Ladner. LNI volleyball is scheduled for October and the school had a parade float with student participants.
The board approved multiple open‑enrollment applications presented by Principal Peterson, in three grouped motions covering students numbered 12–24, 25–29 and 30–48. Personnel actions approved included hiring Malachiah Fleming as head custodian/maintenance at $18.00 per hour (motion by Schommer; second Osmotherly). The board approved two extra‑duty contracts for Buff Tewahade: $1,419 as yearbook advisor and $3,500 to supervise the after‑school 'Buff Time' program.
