Board President John Cope opened the meeting; the acceptance of the financial reports and payment of invoiced claims passed on a motion by Board member Dave Osmotherly, seconded by Board member Katie Merdanian. The transfer of $300,000 was approved on a motion by Board member Lance Tlustos, seconded by Katie Merdanian.
The board reviewed fund balances presented in the meeting packet. The minutes list the Impact Aid account closing at $6,985,950.69 and other fund balances including the General Fund and Capital Outlay. The board did not attach additional conditions to the transfer in the minutes.
The action follows routine fiscal oversight practices for the district; the minutes do not record detailed debate about how the transferred funds will be spent. The board also approved an attendance-incentive allocation (see related article) and accepted the financial statements as unaudited.
