Lake maintenance, Nano‑bubbler repairs and stormwater concerns discussed at River Ridge meeting

At the Aug. 27 meeting, Premier Lakes representative Bill Kurth told the River Ridge board that lakes and preserves are in good condition, crews removed fallen trees from the FPL ditch ahead of an approaching tropical storm, and repairs to the Lake H1‑B nano‑bubbler will be completed the following day.

"The lakes appear to be in very good shape," Mr. Kurth said, and staff changed service frequency from quarterly to monthly during the rainy season. Operations Manager Shane Willis and Mr. Kurth said they will present electrical proposals to move a compressor in the Masters Lake.

District Engineer Charlie Krebs reported the Pinehurst valley gutter grate replacement project is about 80% complete and said parts of the community received "almost 8 inches of rain in two or three days," while roads are designed for 5½ inches of rain in 24 hours. Krebs suggested adding a drainage connection from low-lying Club property at 21723 Oak Run into Lake E1‑A to bypass pipes and inlets. A resident raised a separate concern that standing water is appearing through a slab and contributing to mold; Mr. Krebs said he does not believe the standing water caused the resident's problem because other units did not report similar issues, and Supervisor Schultz asked that the item be placed on the next agenda for further review.

The Board asked staff to follow up on contractor work (MRI) and confirm whether road or curb damage occurred and to present proposals and photos as requested by residents.
