• Check 29640: Motion by Sue Sapp, seconded by Neil Van Boening to approve check number 29640. Minutes state the motion "carried 3-0 with Sue and Neil voting yes, Curt abstaining and Mayor Meints voting yes." Recorded tally: yes 3, abstain 1.
• Ordinance 682 (vacate platted but unopened 'F' Street between 17th and 18th Streets): Motion by Neil Van Boening, seconded by Sue Sapp to suspend the three readings; motion carried 3-0. Motion by Sue Sapp, seconded by Curt Oblinger to approve Ordinance 682; Attorney Andy Carothers read Ordinance 682 and motion carried 3-0.
• Construction Management Agreement (CDBG 24PWI017): Motion by Neil Van Boening, seconded by Sue Sapp to approve the agreement and authorize Mayor Meints to sign it. Motion carried 3-0.
• Interlocal Cooperation Agreement (Mutual Finance Organization): Motion by Neil Van Boening, seconded by Sue Sapp to approve the agreement and authorize Mayor Meints to sign it. Motion carried 3-0. Motion by Sue Sapp, seconded by Curt Oblinger to appoint Fire Chief Mark Meints as the city’s representative to the Gage County Fire Protection MFO Board of Directors; motion carried 3-0. Appointment of an alternate was deferred to a future meeting.
• Bucket truck purchase: Motion by Neil Van Boening, seconded by Curt Oblinger to approve purchase of a 2012 bucket truck from St. Louis, Mo., for $105,600 (28,242 miles). Motion carried 3-0.
• Ordinance 684 (establish compensation for city officers and employees): The council suspended readings and approved Ordinance 684; motion carried 3-0. One council member said he was hesitant to set a specific raise immediately and said an adjustment could be made later.
• Demolition agreement with R. L. Tiemann: Attorney Carothers noted state-required payment-bond requirements and landfill-fee responsibilities. Motion by Neil Van Boening, seconded by Curt Oblinger to give Attorney Carothers authority to approve a new contract with R. L. Tiemann and give Mayor Collin Meints authority to sign it, with an increase not to exceed $2,150. Motion carried 3-0.
• Executive session: Motion by Sue Sapp, seconded by Neil Van Boening to go into executive session with Gloria Henrichs and Ron Hohensee at 8:52 p.m.; council exited executive session at 9:33 p.m. and adjourned at 9:34 p.m.
