Committee approves third waste receptacle, plans shed and fundraising for park operations

Heather Hicks and Michael Bolognino said two sets of park keys are currently held by them. The committee discussed installing a donation box; members agreed to install a box and to empty it regularly to reduce theft risk.
Roni Kramer reviewed waste-removal options, saying a vendor who serves the Egremont dog park charges $48 per week for full service and $67 for a biweekly walk-through. The committee debated winter service frequency and placement of an additional receptacle. Sharon Vidal moved and Paige Orloff seconded a motion to install the third waste receptacle the committee already owns; the motion passed unanimously (all members present agreed). The committee also agreed to add a lost-and-found box.
The committee reviewed finances and fundraising steps: Kramer said nearly $900 in early loans to the project will be repaid by the 501(c)(3). Members discussed a maintenance shed (options for 5x8 and 8x10 sizes) and agreed they need a complete cost estimate before applying to the Community Preservation Committee; Jackie Murray said the CPC is likely to support a shed. Murray also explained a plan to sell customized bricks as an ongoing fundraiser and said the group should find a local bricklayer who can install bricks intermittently. Sharon Vidal raised T-shirt fundraising and sponsorship options; Bolognino will consult a local printer about prebuy versus print-on-demand approaches.
Votes at a glance: the committee voted to approve the prior meeting’s minutes and unanimously approved the motion to install the third waste receptacle. Kramer reiterated that members should submit receipts for reimbursement to her, and Bolognino said he will present a park update to the Select Board in early November.
