The Louisa County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously on Jan. 14 to contribute $10,000 to the Great River Regional Housing Trust Fund.
Representatives from the Southeastern Iowa Regional Planning Commission, including Mike Norris, and participant Sara Hecox discussed the regional housing program with the board. The board approved Resolution No. 202509, which records Louisa County’s $10,000 cash match to the fund in Fiscal Year 2026 and states the contribution is intended to benefit low- and moderate-income households in Louisa County and the surrounding region.
Supervisor Kevin Hardin moved to approve the resolution; Supervisor Scot Hunt seconded. The board recorded the vote as AYES: Shawn Maine, Chair; Kevin Hardin; and Scot Hunt. The resolution language included that Louisa County is a member of the regional fund and that the contribution will support the regional housing program.
County officials did not provide additional implementation details or a timeline for disbursing the contribution during the meeting. The resolution was passed and attested by Auditor Susan Schnedler.
Next steps noted in the meeting record: the county will treat the contribution as a Fiscal Year 2026 cash match; no further procedural steps or departmental assignments were recorded in the minutes.
