The Wymore City Council voted 4-0 on May 20 to submit a Thomas Foundation grant application to pay for HVAC, lighting and ceiling repairs at the community center and authorized Mayor Collin Meints and Council President Sue Sapp to sign the application.
City Attorney Andrew Carothers told the council the application would cover the listed upgrades; the council recorded the city's matching requirement as $20,000. The motion to submit the application was made by Councilmember Max Allen and seconded by Councilmember Curt Oblinger and carried unanimously.
Council members did not record further conditions on the grant submission during the meeting. The city will now await the foundation's response and any required follow-up documentation or bidding information needed for the project.
