City approves security gates and utility vehicle purchase; Lowery Hills plat dedications accepted

The Lake Alfred City Commission approved several procurement and consent items on June 22, including a bid award for security gates, a vehicle purchase in the utilities fleet and acceptance of plat dedications.
The commission awarded the Public Works and Public Safety Gates Project to Tim Riner Construction for $127,400. The contract covers front and rear automated vehicle gates, a pedestrian gate, keypad access, magnetic locks, privacy fencing and electrical infrastructure. The public safety parking lot gates ($105,600) will be funded from the Public Safety fund; the public works facility gate ($21,800) will be funded from general impact fees. The City Manager was authorized to negotiate and execute related construction agreements.
As part of the consent agenda, the commission approved advancing a vehicle purchase into the current fiscal year: the recommended purchase is a 2026 F-350 4x4 from Bartow Ford for $59,682 to replace a 2008 Ford Escape used at the wastewater plant; funding is available in current reserves. The commission also approved Resolution 05-26 accepting Lowery Hills Phase I plat dedications; related public-infrastructure deeds will be accepted later after construction and maintenance surety are complete.
All items passed by unanimous vote of commissioners present.
