Conservation Commission gains full membership, seeks outreach as DEP aide Mark Stinson retires

Conservation Commission Chair David Evans updated the Select Board on staffing and outreach needs at the July 6 meeting, saying the Commission now has full membership and a new agent, Shannon Poulin, whose experience has strengthened the Commission’s work.
Evans said the Commission had explored a shared full-time agent arrangement with other towns and prepared a draft agreement, but the other towns withdrew from consideration. He asked that outreach explaining the Commission’s duties run in the Local Yokel and requested the Select Board’s help connecting with other towns if the Commission pursues a shared services agreement again.
Evans also reported that Mark Stinson of the Department of Environmental Protection, who has provided guidance to the Commission for years, is retiring; he said it is unclear whether a replacement will be hired. The Commission asked for cloud storage for documents now that the town uses Microsoft 365 so commissioners can access materials more easily; Town Administrator Marie Ryan said the website update can be made once the Commission provides updated FAQs.
Evans thanked the Board for its support and asked for follow-up on outreach and document-access steps.
