Wolfeboro Select Board hires MRI to run town manager search and shortens meeting hours to 6–9 p.m.

The Select Board announced April 15 that it has retained Municipal Resources, Inc. (MRI) of Meredith, New Hampshire, to run the town manager recruitment. The agreement (dated April 9, 2026) names Alan Gould, president of MRI, as the search lead and estimates a 90–120 day process. The board asked that all candidates contact MRI directly and requested that applicants not contact Select Board members or town staff in order to keep the process at arm’s length.

At the start of the meeting the chair said Barry Muccio has joined the town as interim town manager effective April 13 and noted the MRI contract and position materials will be posted on the town website as they become available.

Also on procedure, Select Board member Linda Murray moved to change Select Board meetings to start at 6:00 p.m. and set a standard end time of 9:00 p.m. for this meeting cycle; unfinished business would continue on the following Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. The motion passed unanimously. The board separately approved a motion to end the April 15 meeting at 9:00 p.m. with a nonpublic session to follow.
