Broken Bow council approves consent agenda, sets $10 tent-camping fee and okays $705.75 flood-risk payment

The Broken Bow City Council approved its consent agenda, set a $10-per-night tent-camping rate at the RV Park and approved a $705.75 payment to JEO Consulting Group Inc. during a Jan. 14 meeting at the Broken Bow Library. Council President Rod Sonnichsen called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.
The consent agenda — moved by Councilman Miller and seconded by Councilman Myers — included approval of the Dec. 20, 2019 council minutes, the 'Bills to Date' report, the November treasurer's report and the Broken Bow Volunteer Fire Department roster. The meeting record lists line-item vendor payments and reports a Total Bills figure of $252,868.39. The motion passed on a roll call vote: Sonnichsen, Miller and Myers voting aye; Holcomb was absent.
Council also approved a motion, moved by Sonnichsen and seconded by Myers, to set tent-camping at the city's RV Park at $10.00 per night. The vote was unanimous among those present.
Separately, the council approved Resolution 2020-1, moved by Miller and seconded by Sonnichsen, authorizing payment of $705.75 to JEO Consulting Group Inc. for work on the Broken Bow Flood Risk Reduction project through Dec. 20, 2019. That motion likewise passed with Sonnichsen, Miller and Myers voting aye.
During a brief opportunity for council comments, Councilman Myers praised city crews for snow removal after recent storms. The meeting was adjourned at 6:06 p.m., on a motion by Sonnichsen seconded by Myers.
