The Village of Carleton Council on June 3 accepted the resignation of Councilmember Dave Klavon and thanked him for 12 years of service.
The acceptance was moved by Councilmember Lena Kaczmarek and supported by Councilmember Jim Geiermann; the motion carried on a voice vote. President James Penix said he had spoken with one applicant, Chris Janda, about meeting to discuss the appointment but that schedules had not yet aligned. Penix and Kaczmarek said they would reach out again to Mr. Janda to confirm continued interest. Councilmember Debbie Stolkey said she knows another resident who is interested.
No appointment was made at the June 3 meeting; the council directed members to follow up with potential applicants and return with options at a future meeting.
