The Wymore City Council approved a special designated liquor (SDL) permit for Monica and James Ullman to run a Sam Wymore Days beer garden on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., following a request from James Ullman. The motion to approve the SDL was made by Max Allen, seconded by Curt Oblinger, and carried 4-0.
The Sam Wymore Days Committee also requested permission to host a bingo night and a spaghetti feed as a fundraiser on March 13 in the community center; the council allowed both events and waived the community center fees (motion by Max Allen, seconded by Neil Van Boening; carried 4-0). The committee asked the city to again cover the cost of fireworks and insurance for Sam Wymore Days and to close the south campground in Arbor State Park for a flea market. Councilman Max Allen asked the committee to obtain a cost estimate for the fireworks and place the item on the next council agenda for consideration.
No agreement or appropriation for fireworks or insurance was approved at the meeting; the council requested cost information before taking action.
