Carleton hires finance officer, approves staff training extensions and $1,000 for road cold patch

The council also approved temporary extensions to assist with a staffing transition. A motion by Geiermann, supported by Burkardt, authorized Administrative Assistant America Runyan to work up to 10 hours per month and outgoing Finance Officer Rose Laderach to work up to 12 hours per month through July 31, 2025 to provide training and onboarding for the new finance officer. The motion passed by roll-call vote with five ayes recorded.
On road maintenance, Councilmember Robert Pernicano moved — with support from Geiermann — to spend $1,000 to purchase an additional five-ton load of cold patch to continue road improvements. That motion passed by roll-call vote with five ayes recorded.
Earlier in the meeting, the council approved payment of bills totaling $36,990.94. The roll-call record in the minutes lists Councilmembers Debbie Stolkey, Lena Kaczmarek, Jim Geiermann, Terry Burkardt and Robert Pernicano as voting yes on that payment. The minutes show the motions for the minutes and the agenda also carried without recorded opposition.
These personnel and maintenance decisions were recorded in the official minutes and will support the transition to the newly hired finance officer and ongoing road-repair work. The council adjourned at 7:12 p.m.
