Wymore council certifies five volunteer responders and advances reciprocity testing for firefighter applicant

The Wymore City Council voted Jan. 21 to approve the annual certification under the Volunteer Emergency Responders Incentive Act for five individuals listed in the record. The motion to certify was made by Councilman Neil Van Boening, seconded by Curt Oblinger, and carried 4-0.
Council members also discussed a reciprocity applicant, Timothy Anderson of Marysville. Mark Meints told the council the interview went well and recommended moving forward with the applicant’s medical and physical examination so the reciprocity packet can be sent to the state. Meints said Anderson indicated he wanted to remain in Marysville to care for family but expressed willingness to be active and flexible when needed in Wymore. On a motion by Neil Van Boening, seconded by Max Allen, the council agreed to proceed with testing for Anderson; the motion carried 4-0.
No additional staffing actions or hiring offers were recorded at the meeting; the testing step is procedural and precedes any formal appointment under state reciprocity rules.
