Belton Education Foundation reports grants, scholarships and donor growth to trustees

Kim Pimento, executive director of the Belton Education Foundation, presented the foundation's annual update to the Belton ISD board, highlighting grants, scholarships and donor engagement.
Pimento reported that the employee giving campaign raised $12,437 this school year and that the foundation distributed $118,159 in teacher grants to 52 teachers across 20 campuses. The foundation awarded $313,200 in scholarships, with recipients attending 52 different colleges; one scholarship recipient used funds to attend Regent University in the United Kingdom. Pimento said the foundation raised $132,935 the prior year and is planning a fundraising event called "Boots, Bling & Blackjack" on Nov. 7 at Cathedral Oaks.
Pimento described donor outreach efforts, a new alumni program and partnerships with community businesses and groups. Board members thanked the foundation and praised its volunteer leadership and contributions to classroom grants and student scholarships.
Next steps: the foundation will continue its donor engagement and fundraising calendar; board members and staff discussed opportunities for increased partnership and information flow so the foundation can better coordinate volunteer and donor activities with schools.
