Bethania reports visitor-center sales, festival notes and ticketing data; board approves minutes

Commissioner Johanna Brown reported to the Board on Oct. 10 that the Town of Bethania Visitor Center recorded $2,071 in sales for September, including $1,618 in sales tied to the Black Walnut Festival.
Brown said the town's annual tree lighting is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 1, and Mayor Brent Rockett noted that the lights on the tree should be checked and possibly repaired before the event. Commissioner Brown also announced the Bethania Historical Society's oyster roast on Oct. 12; tickets cost $60 and 100% of proceeds go to the society.
At the Black Walnut Festival briefing, Beth Spieler told the Commission that "the deputies did not get out of their vehicles to assist with traffic/pedestrians" and suggested placing signage on Bethania Road in future years to prevent parking on the right of way. Mayor Rockett added that Foothills Brewery donated cans for the festival, which simplified beer-tent operations.
Town Clerk Karen Keller reported there were 16 total tickets written during September, all for speeding, with an average reported 19.69 MPH over the limit. Commissioner Tom Beroth reviewed financial reports as of Sept. 30; there were no questions.
Procedural actions: Commissioner Tom Beroth moved to adopt the Oct. 10 agenda; the motion passed unanimously. Beroth also moved to approve the Sept. 5 meeting minutes; that motion passed unanimously. The Board adjourned at 7:17 p.m. following a motion by Beroth, which also passed unanimously.
The Commission agreed to research a donation for Hurricane Helene relief and placed that item on the Nov. agenda for follow-up.
