Bethania commissioners discuss facilitator-led workshops to craft a town vision

Commissioner Kenneth Wolff told the Board on Oct. 10 that planner Rene Wilt has proposed three sessions to help the Town of Bethania commissioners organize and refine a "town vision." Wolff said the sessions would be structured workshops rather than routine agenda items.
Commissioners discussed Open Meetings Law considerations and whether to host a facilitator in Bethania or travel to off-site sessions. Wolff suggested scheduling a special board meeting in the same month as a regular meeting so the workshops could proceed without a public-comment section.
Mayor Brent Rockett said he had contacted the North Carolina League of Municipalities about strategic-planning services but that the League has only recently scheduled its first session and it was unclear whether its facilitators would travel to Bethania. No formal vote was taken; Commissioners agreed to continue researching facilitator options and scheduling.
