The Laconia City Council took the following recorded formal actions on July 13; all motions carried by unanimous recorded vote (6-0):
- Approval of minutes: Councilor Conant moved to approve the June 22, 2026 regular meeting minutes as distributed, seconded by Councilor Soucy. The motion passed 6-0.
- Temporary Traffic Order 2026-10: Approved the Rev, White & Brew Fest Antique/Classic Car Show closures planned for Aug. 14, 2026 (event hours 4–9 p.m., closures to begin at 2 p.m.). Motion by Councilor Hildreth, seconded by Councilor Hoffman; passed 6-0.
- Unlicensed dog warrant (2026): Under RSA 466:14 the council issued the unlicensed dog warrant as presented. Motion by Councilor Soucy, seconded by Councilor Hildreth; passed 6-0. Clerk Katie Gargano noted the sealed list may include deceased animals because veterinarians report vaccinations but not deaths, and the clerk’s office will remove reported deceased animals from the database.
- Building permit on Colonial Road (private road): Authorized issuance of a building permit for a single-family home subject to two conditions: (1) Department of Public Works review of proposed driveway drainage before permit issuance, and (2) signed acknowledgment, recorded at the Belknap County Registry of Deeds, that the city has no maintenance responsibility for the private road. Motion by Councilor Conant, seconded by Councilor Soucy; passed 6-0.
- Appointment to Library Board of Trustees (alternate): The council appointed Beth Newton as an alternate member for a one-year term ending March 2027. Motion by Councilor Conant, seconded by Councilor Bogert; passed 6-0.
- Resolution 2026-09 (JAG grant acceptance): Approved accepting a $11,756 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant and authorized the City Manager to sign related documents. Motion by Councilor Conant, seconded by Councilor Soucy; passed 6-0.
