VanDeWalle and the village attorney have been reviewing data‑center proposals and related court decisions; VanDeWalle described the working draft to prohibit data‑center development or place a moratorium until more information on long‑term public health and safety impacts is available. The board adopted Chapter 422 creating Section 422‑29 and directed the administrator to prepare a moratorium ordinance for final approval (motion Jablonski/Stroik) 7–0.
Separately, the board approved an amendment to the village’s social media policy establishing an advertising framework limited to village‑owned pages; the change does not apply to privately run community promotion pages (motion Stroik/Ehster) 7–0.
