Kyle council adopts PY2026 CDBG annual action plan for sidewalks, $294,937 in funding

Jason Lutz, staff presenter, told council the anticipated allocation is approximately $294,937 and that staff recommends focusing on sidewalks, curb ramps and pedestrian improvements in identified low‑to‑moderate‑income areas to maximize value under federal requirements.
The council opened the required public hearing and, with no speakers coming forward, adopted the resolution approving the draft plan and authorized staff to submit the plan to HUD, which has a submission deadline of Aug. 14. Lutz said staff would refine project locations within HUD-eligible LMI census tracts and brought forward the staff recommendation to approve the plan as presented. The council voted 7-0 to approve the resolution.
