At the Committee of the Whole business session on June 10, 2026, the business administrator and board members approved a set of routine operational recommendations and discussed fiscal pressures facing the district.
The committee reached consensus to accept the April Treasurer's Report and to renew food‑service contracts for FY27 with Alpha Bakery and Muller‑Pinehurst. It also approved vendor agreements including a placement fee to AYA Healthcare for a contracted registered nurse and professional development agreements funded by Title III: a $2,653 contract with the Illinois Resource Center for multilingual‑learner PD and a $7,400 two‑day biliteracy training with Adelante.
By consensus the committee also approved a resolution transferring $575,000 from the Educational Fund to the Operations & Maintenance Fund, renewed the bus‑washing contract with Jarrod's Power Washing, updated the resolution authorizing designated depositories, and adopted a resolution designating interest earnings for fiscal year 2026‑27.
Josh Aurand, assistant superintendent for business and operations, updated the committee on insurance renewals and the district's technology budget, reporting an increase in property casualty premiums, a decrease in workers' compensation, and a net positive impact from excess fund closures. Aurand said Chromebook costs have increased by about 25% and cited RAM shortages and other technology pressures that will require spending adjustments and monitoring of state and federal budget developments.
All listed recommendations were approved by committee consensus; several items will appear on the June 15 Board agenda for final action as appropriate.
