A commissioner said the planning commission's recommendation reflects concerns about lot sizes and neighborhood compatibility. Commissioners discussed whether the proposed lots are smaller, larger or similar to existing lots in the conservation overlay and noted neighbors had asked for larger lots when the case was heard previously.
Staff and commissioners said the proposal, if homes are proposed in the future, will return to the design commission for COA review so any new houses must comply with the design guidelines. The commission did not take action on the subdivision itself but acknowledged the planning commission's recommendation would move forward to the mayor and aldermen.
