Oxford board approves consent items, vending contract and landscape maintenance bids

At the April 7 meeting the Board approved multiple consent items including procurement and permit actions.
Mark Levy (speaker 9) recommended awarding an annual vending contract to ANC Ventures for two machines (City Hall and the bridal resource center). He said only one responsive proposal was received and the contract term would be three years and cancelable with 90 days' notice; the vendor will remit a monthly payment equal to 5% of sales. "So we only received 1 proposal ... we'll receive a monthly check of 5% for the items purchased," Levy said.
Staff also reported five bids for right-of-way cutting; the low bidder was Creekmore Landscape with an annual price of $100,553.76 for nearly 70 properties. The Board accepted the bids and awarded a related contract to expand landscape maintenance. Separately, procurement staff said Tag Truck Center submitted the only qualifying reverse-auction bid for a class B chassis with roll-off body and hoist for Environmental Services; the Board accepted that bid.
The Board approved permits for Stronger Together Oxford to host a volunteer appreciation event (April 21) and a tulip take-home event (April 10) in the Pocket Park, and approved authorization to use Franks, Franks, Wildman & Haygood for non-audit services to assist with a new comptroller transition. All items passed by voice vote as part of the consent agenda.
