Harlem UD 122 honors student intern, valedictorian and salutatorian

At its June 15 meeting, the Harlem Consolidated School District #122 Board of Education honored students and shared a parent letter praising the district’s Workplace Experience program.
Dr. Jason Blume recognized a student, Gabe C., who secured a teaching position at Concordia Lutheran Schools after participating in the district’s High School to Hired internship. The student described adapting lesson plans and handling unexpected classroom situations during the placement; Dr. Blume also read a parent’s letter thanking district staff for the confidence‑building opportunity the program provided.
The board also recognized Parker L., the class valedictorian, and Kennedie, the salutatorian. Parker said he plans to attend Ripon College to study physics and mechanical engineering and continue running cross country. Kennedie said she will attend Marquette University to study communications with a possible minor in Spanish or film.
Administrators noted the district will continue workplace and career preparation opportunities that connect students with local employers.
