Frontenac USD 249 board approves resignations and hires after executive session; schedules special hiring meeting

Board Member Seth Nutt moved and Board Member Jenna Stout seconded a motion to accept the resignations of Julie Curran, an SFA teacher aide (effective at the end of the 2025–26 school year), and Molly Barrows, a junior high half-time athletic director; that motion passed 7-0. The board then voted on hiring four coaching positions: Brittany Sullivan (junior high assistant track coach), Lacey Likely (junior high assistant volleyball coach), Kailey Schinstock (high school cheer coach) and Mindy Spears (high school cheer coach). The hiring motion, moved by Board Member Sean Anderson and seconded by Board Member Lindsay Smith, passed 6-1 with Board Member Scott Kunshek dissenting.
The board scheduled a special meeting for Thursday, March 12 at 7:30 a.m. specifically for hiring personnel. The minutes do not specify reasons for the dissenting vote or further terms of employment; all personnel actions were recorded as approved in open session following the executive session.
