The City of Gas council voted 3-0 on Sept. 9 to approve a $0.75 per hour pay increase for city employee Zane Whitney, effective in the current pay period. The action followed a five‑minute executive session held under K.S.A. 75-4319(b)(1) to discuss non‑elected personnel.
Councilmember Harry Holloway moved to approve the wage increase after the regular meeting resumed at 6:50 p.m.; Councilmember George Grisier seconded the motion, which carried 3-0. The meeting minutes record that City Attorney Ross Albertini left the room during the executive session.
The pay action was one of several routine personnel and administrative matters on the council agenda. No further personnel changes were adopted at the meeting. The council adjourned at 6:54 p.m.
