Council hears wastewater project update and approves pay requisition

City staff reported five newly funded projects including wastewater treatment plant improvements and sewer I&I monitoring; council approved pay requisition certificate No. 2 for approximately $55,750 by voice vote.
Donna (S5) told the council on May 4 that five new projects were funded and highlighted work at the wastewater treatment plant and a sewer inflow-and-infiltration project that now has sensors collecting data.
"Y'all got 5 new projects funded," Donna said, and added that equipment orders and invoices are starting to come in for the wastewater treatment improvements. She said the city is submitting an EDA application and referenced a match tied to state House Bill 900.
Chair (S1) asked for a motion to approve pay requisition certificate No. 2 for roughly $55,750; a council member moved, a second was recorded and the council approved the requisition by voice vote.
Council members discussed using cleaner-waters grant money to buy long-lead equipment for the treatment plant but did not record further action beyond the requisition approval.
