City clerk (S2) read the ordinance section by section and listed fund-level revenues and expenses, including a $1,051,378 general fund, a $621,000 water fund, a $319,000 sewer fund and $14,427,401 in special projects and grants, for a total proposed budget of $16,835,446.
The clerk said a budget summary and supporting documentation are available for public inspection at the city clerk’s office Monday–Friday. The ordinance was read as a first reading only; council members said they expect to revisit it at the second reading next month.
Council members did not vote to adopt the budget on May 4; the council will consider amendments and vote on adoption at the second reading, which S2 announced is scheduled for June 1, 2026.
