Williams said the organization has worked with more than 3,000 students since it began and that its services include meeting basic needs (clothing, hygiene, dental and vision assistance) and offering mentoring and character development to help students become "independent thinkers." He said the program works closely with school resource center managers across the county and that all funds raised "stay here in Russell County" and are held in a protective fund at the school board for program use.
"The big day is April 25. That's my concert coming up, First Baptist Church, Russell Springs, Kentucky 6PM," Williams said; he named guest performer Bradley Walker among others and invited the community to attend. Williams thanked the mayor and council for past support.
The mayor and council acknowledged the invitation; no formal action or funding request accompanied the public comment at this meeting.
