Senior Resource Center reports 892 rides and $22,477 in program expenses for Eudora in 2025

Megan Poindexter of the Senior Resource Center for Douglas County presented the SRC’s annual report to the Eudora City Commission on March 9, saying Eudora’s dedicated Senior Wheels vehicle operated 223 days in 2025.
"The SRC traveled 13,145 miles over the year with at least one Eudora passenger on board," Poindexter said, and the service completed 892 rides during the year, 528 of which were for medical trips. She reported program expenses totaling $22,477, excluding support staff and wages for drivers who cover when volunteers are not available.
Poindexter also described organizational changes: the SRC recently became a department of Douglas County and deployed new dispatching software. Beyond transportation, SRC provides medical counseling, social engagement and education activities, and emergency rent and utility assistance; Poindexter said those services were provided to 290 known Eudora residents over the past three years.
No action was requested or taken by the commission on the presentation.
