During the Dec. 9 meeting, the Ellsworth-Kanopolis-Geneseo USD #327 board paused its business agenda to acknowledge community volunteers, veterans and student accomplishments.
Board minutes extend thanks to Kiwanis, FFA, Boy Scouts, VFW, EMS, coaches, game officials and numerous named volunteers whose work supports home football activities and student events. The district also noted Veterans who visited classrooms on Veterans Day to present to students.
Student achievements the board recognized include Josie Kueser, named state champion at the Kansas Association of Conservation Districts state conservation speech contest; Ellsworth High School mathletes, who placed first in the 2A/3A division (6th overall) at the FHSU Math Relay with multiple individual and team placings across events; and North Central Activities Association All‑League football selections including Micah Galvan, Landin Johnson, Tucker Goss, Cooper McGowan and others. The board also recognized FCCLA representation at the Kansas Association of School Boards District Showcase and a successful EES Fall Festival.
