Eudora reports FY2025 budget finished within about 1% of projections

City staff told the Eudora City Commission that FY2025 spending landed roughly 1% from projections and said the budget team is starting FY2027 planning earlier; no formal action was requested at the Feb. 9 meeting.
Assistant to the City Manager Michael Gentry told the Eudora City Commission on Feb. 9 that the city’s FY2025 activity finished close to expectations, remaining within about 1% of the projections the budget team had anticipated.
Gentry said staff are moving the budget calendar earlier and that the Budget/Finance team will begin FY2027 conversations next week. City Manager Zack Daniel added that the earlier start is intended to give departments more time to plan and to smooth the review process.
Commissioner Roberta Lehmann praised the Budget Team and department heads for their preparation and implementation of the budget, saying their work contributed to the close alignment between expected and actual results.
No action was requested or taken on the report during the meeting. The commission approved routine agenda and consent items earlier in the session; the next scheduled work session on Feb. 23 will include a separate staffing discussion for the Fire Department.
