The Ellsworth-Kanopolis-Geneseo USD 327 Board of Education on Aug. 12, 2024 approved several measures affecting athletics and facilities finance.
The board adopted the league-recommended gate fee of $5 for athletic events that charge admission. It also increased the price of athletic passes for students in grades 4–12 to $35; students in grades 4–6 will be allowed entry only when accompanied by an adult. The motions passed by unanimous vote.
Separately, the board approved the sale of surplus millings and sand generated by the recent EJSHS asphalt project; the motion passed 6-0.
Mr. Rush moved to change gate fees and passes; Mr. Svaty seconded the surplus millings sale motion. Board members said the changes bring ticketing and pass prices in line with league recommendations and help recover materials from the recent pavement project.
