Eastborough council accepts treasurer resignation, appoints Gene Miller

Mayor Stacy Moore opened the Dec. 17 City of Eastborough council meeting and noted administrative business.
Treasurer Norman Farha reported December revenues of $2,666.31, expenses of $109,129.37 and unencumbered cash and investments of $1,470,370.67, and told the council he will resign as treasurer once a replacement is available. Council members thanked Farha for his service.
Mayor Stacy Moore then requested the appointment of Gene Miller to the treasurer post. Council President Steve Wagle moved to accept the appointment; the motion was recorded as seconded by Steve Wagle and approved unanimously. The minutes record the motion as: “I move to accept the appointment of Gene Miller as treasurer.”
The council recessed briefly into an eight-minute executive session earlier in the meeting to discuss non-elected personnel; the minutes record the recess and a return to open session before the appointment was made. The council adjourned at 6:35 p.m. and scheduled its next regular meeting for Jan. 28, 2025.
