Edgerton awards managed IT contract, extends trash service and adds inspection work for park project

Edgerton City Council on Oct. 24 approved several service and inspection agreements intended to maintain operations and complete capital work.
After an August RFP and interviews, staff recommended Imagine IT as the city’s managed IT‑services provider beginning in 2025; staff said the selected proposal will reduce costs compared with the current provider, Strategy. Council approved the Imagine IT contract on a 5‑0 vote (moved by Councilmember Josh Lewis; seconded by Councilmember Deb Lebakken).
For solid waste, staff negotiated an extension with Gardner Disposal for Jan. 1, 2025–Dec. 31, 2027; under the draft terms the City continues to subsidize 50% of resident costs. Gardner’s Tim Henry confirmed that bulk items (including couches) and electronics remain part of the service; Council approved the three‑year agreement 5‑0 (m. Josh Lewis; s. Ron Conus).
Separately, Council approved Supplemental Agreement No. 1 with BG Consultants to provide additional construction inspection services on the Glendell Acres Park renovation following a no‑cost change order to the CM Concrete contract. The supplement increases inspection authorization by $8,200, bringing the inspection contract total to $18,200; staff noted available KDHE grant funds cover the change and the project remains under budget. Council approved the supplement 5‑0 (m. Deb Lebakken; s. Ron Conus).
Council directed staff to negotiate an extension for the sludge hauling contract with Digital Erth based on prior service and favorable pricing; staff will return a proposed extension for approval.
