The Edgerton City Council on Sept. 12 approved Ordinances No. 2167 and No. 2168, renewing conditional-use permits (CU2024-0100 and CU2024-0101) that allow continuous billboard use on the property at 36450 Frontage Road near I-35.
Development Services Director Zach Moore told council the two billboard structures have been in place since 2010 and that the current conditional-use approvals were set to expire this year. He said staff and the planning commission reviewed the permit renewals against the city’s criteria and code; the planning commission held a public hearing and recommended approval.
With no public comments or council questions, Mayor Roberts requested motions to adopt both ordinances. Each motion passed on a 3-0 vote.
Why it matters: the renewals keep existing off-premises signage in place along a highway frontage and were supported by staff and the planning commission after public hearing and code review. The renewals extend the permits for an additional five years.
