Cynthia Edgerle moved and the board voted 6-0 on March 10 to renew certified staff for the 2025–26 school year and to approve a set of personnel actions for the next academic year.
The board approved hiring Daisy Adams as a fifth-grade teacher, Chris Barlow as instrumental band instructor and Craig Batchman as assistant golf coach, and authorized hiring an interventionist. The board accepted the resignation of Kelly Clark, music teacher, effective at the end of the school year. The motion included approval for early dismissal at 2:00 p.m. on April 15 and May 6 to accommodate track meets.
Before taking action, the board convened a sequence of executive sessions under the Kansas Open Meetings Act to discuss employment of non-elected personnel and to confer on teacher negotiations. Mrs. Bohl repeatedly moved the board into executive session (each motion seconded and recorded as passing 6-0); sessions began at 8:42 p.m. and the board returned to open session multiple times before final personnel votes were taken. The board’s minutes record these sessions consistent with KOMA practices for personnel matters.
Board members said the approvals were part of routine staffing and scheduling for the next school year; no contested votes or public objections were recorded in the minutes.
