Dwight council approves minutes and unpaid bills, notes pending ordinances and registrations
Summary

At the May 19, 2026 Dwight City Council meeting, members approved routine administrative business including two motions to accept minutes from rescheduled April meetings and a motion to approve unpaid bills that included Mainstreet flower purchases.
Councilwoman Ashley Gearhart moved to accept the minutes of the April 20, 2026 rescheduled meeting and Councilwoman Jamie Fetters seconded; the motion carried 4-0. Councilwoman Fetters then moved to accept the minutes for the April 21 rescheduled meeting, with Councilman John Traynor seconding; that motion also carried 4-0. Later in the agenda Gearhart moved to approve the unpaid bills as presented with the addition of Mainstreet flower purchases; Fetters seconded and the motion carried 4-0.
City Clerk Ken Bergeron provided written financials and reported that delinquent accounts have all made payments. Under new business the council recorded that ordinance violation letters will be sent. Under old business Mayor Pam Goss said she continues work on the 2026 budget using five years of income and expenditure data; a Vacate Alley Ordinance is pending and dog registrations continue, with follow-up letters to owners not yet registered as required by Ordinance No. 200D (Section 10-13).
Councilman John Traynor moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:08 p.m.; Councilman Adam Wiebe seconded and the motion carried 4-0. The next regular council meeting is set for June 15 at 7:00 p.m. at the City Library.
