Pleasant Valley Weekend organizers provided a detailed update on a three-day community event planned for mid-to-late August, and asked the Town Board for logistical support and outreach.
Alisa May, one of the event leads, said the weekend will feature a Friday car show, touch-a-truck and movie night; a full Saturday with music and fireworks; and Sunday activities including a parade and basketball tournaments. She said organizers plan to keep the event affordable for families and are seeking sponsors and both large and small financial contributions to support rides and entertainment. "If 10 businesses give us $50, that's another ride," she said.
Reno Mae, who is organizing the car show and touch-a-truck, asked local car owners and businesses to participate. Organizers reported around 15 food vendors committed and noted transportation support for handicapped attendees will be provided again this year. The board discussed electrical needs for the basketball courts and adjusting timers for lights during event hours.
Action/follow-up: Committee volunteers will distribute flyers, continue vendor outreach, and coordinate with town staff on power, lighting schedules and site logistics.
