Town establishes Water Advisory Committee, sets deadlines and open-meeting requirement

The board un-tabled the resolution, agreed to shift interview duties to two liaisons (Supervisor Albrecht and Councilman Ryfenberg) to conduct candidate interviews over the next month, and discussed posting minutes to a linked Google document to make them publicly available.
Board members and the town attorney discussed logistics and privacy/security concerns for recording or broadcasting committee meetings. Samantha Knowlton asked whether meetings could be recorded; the attorney and board said they would consult on technical and security issues and left minutes and public availability as a minimum requirement.
Members of the public asked whether the committee would explore municipal-water options such as connections to the Town of Poughkeepsie or Hyde Park. The board noted that the Dutchess County Water and Wastewater Authority would be the conduit for any municipal interconnections and said the authority would be invited to work with the committee on options.
Board action: The resolution to establish the Water Advisory Committee, with the stated amendments and reporting deadlines, was approved by voice vote.
