On July 21 the Arvada City Council approved a package of land‑use and regional items.
Parks and Urban Design Manager Darren Delay presented R26‑053, an intergovernmental agreement establishing the Clear Creek Trail Collaborative, which formalizes governance, branding and quarterly coordination among 15 agencies that manage portions of the nearly 65‑mile Clear Creek corridor. Delay said the IGA creates a collaborative (not a separate legal entity) that sets standards for trail widths, surfaces, maintenance, and a unified branding approach. Council approved the resolution 6–0.
On a land‑use item, the council reviewed a major modification to the land development code to allow a recycled crushed gravel driveway and parking surface at 6800 West 55th Avenue in combination with construction of a garage and an accessory dwelling unit. Applicant Mike Lane described a permeable underlayment and crushed gravel top designed to reduce heat island effects and protect the historic cobblestone foundation of his 1890s house. Planning staff and the planning commission recommended approval; council approved the major modification 6–0.
For a development project labeled Revival Industrial, staff presented annexation (CB26‑022), rezoning from Jefferson County SR‑2 to Arvada MX‑S (CB26‑023), and a conditional use permit to allow light industrial uses (CB26‑024) on an approximately 5.398‑acre site south of State Highway 72. The planning commission recommended unanimous approval of all three items after public notice and staff review of infrastructure, fire, water and CDOT requirements. Council approved the annexation, rezoning and conditional use on final readings, each by 6–0 votes.
