Metcalfe County board approves finance report, attendance-policy update and accepts $14,240 KETS offer

Financial report: Board member Daniel Glass moved and Robin McMurtrey seconded approval of the October 2024 financial report; the motion passed 3–0. The minutes list multiple warrant checks and vendor payments for September and highlight large construction and athletic-complex payments (for example, a $473,480.07 payment to Scott, Murphy, Daniel; $295,529.76 to Brockman Contracting; and $120,271.50 to Scotty's Contracting & Stone). The report also records routine payments to vendors for supplies, transportation and utilities and state reimbursements and SEEK deposits received in September.
Policy and grants: The board approved the second reading of 09.123 (Absences and Excuses), with Daniel Glass moving and Robin McMurtrey seconding the measure; the vote was unanimous. The board also authorized staff to apply for the FY25 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Cycle 22 grant; that motion passed 3–0.
KETS offer: The board accepted the Kentucky Educational Technology System (KETS) first offer of assistance in the amount of $14,240; minutes state the funds must be matched by the district. Daniel Glass moved and Robin McMurtrey seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
Personnel and consent items: Consent items including previously held meeting minutes, numerous field trips and fundraiser schedules, and personnel appointments (for example, Rachel Ervin as a 21st CCLC Afterschool Assistant and Brittney Jessie as a Mental Health Counselor) were approved without objection.
The board scheduled its next regular meeting for Nov. 12, 2024.
