The Metcalfe County Board of Education elected Daniel Glass as board chair and Wes Jolly as vice chair during its regular meeting on Jan. 16, 2025, at 709 West Stockton Street. Both leadership nominations were made and approved by formal motions and recorded votes.
Cassie Reece moved to nominate Daniel Glass for board chair; the motion was seconded by Wes Jolly. The vote was recorded as Daniel Glass—abstain; Wes Jolly—yes; Kelly Bell—yes; Robby Parnell—yes; Cassie Reece—yes, and the nomination carried.
Daniel Glass then moved to nominate Wes Jolly for vice chair; Cassie Reece seconded. The vote was recorded as Daniel Glass—yes; Wes Jolly—abstain; Kelly Bell—yes; Robby Parnell—yes; Cassie Reece—yes, and that nomination also carried.
Superintendent Josh Hurt noted that the oath of office for newly sworn members had been administered at 5:50 p.m. before the meeting began. The board proceeded to recognitions and the superintendent’s report after completing leadership elections.
No ordinance or statute was cited during the elections; the actions were recorded as formal board appointments and reflected in the meeting minutes.
