Chamber reports, Eagle Scout project and summer events highlighted at Lynbrook meeting

The Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce and village recreation staff updated trustees on summer programming at the July 13 meeting. Eric Donaldson, a Chamber board member, recapped a successful pre-prom party and announced weekly cruise nights on Atlantic Avenue through July and August, and encouraged raffle donations for the mayor's golf outing.
Jeff Greenfield, chairman of the mayor's golf outing, said the Inwood Club is sold out and only a few foursomes remain at the Seawane Club; he encouraged those interested to register soon and to drop raffle donations at his office (NGL Insurance). He also named three honorees for the outing and thanked local businesses for support.
Recreation staff announced a movie night (Thursday) and a pool members' party and concert (Saturday); the pool party runs 4-7 p.m., followed by a concert from 7-9 p.m. with food trucks and a DJ.
Youth engagement: Joseph Volk, an Eagle Scout candidate, requested and received approval to paint house address numbers on curbs in his neighborhood (south of Sunrise) as his Eagle Scout project, and trustees approved the plan and thanked him for volunteering.
What happens next: Chamber and recreation organizers will continue event preparations; staff will coordinate logistics for the golf outing, pool party and approved Eagle Scout project.
