Golden Plains USD 316 board adopts 2025–26 budget, approves tax and spending resolutions

The USD 316 Board of Education voted unanimously on Sept. 9 to approve the district’s 2025–26 budget and related tax and spending resolutions during a meeting in the Golden Plains Middle/High School FACS room in Rexford.
Board members adopted a resolution to exceed the Revenue Neutral Rate following a Revenue Neutral Rate (RNR) hearing held just before the regular meeting. The board then approved the 2025–26 budget (motion by Chad Focke, seconded by Jeremy Schiltz) with the board noting that the district’s Building Needs Assessment and State Assessment results were provided to and considered by the board during the budget approval process. The motion carried 7-0.
The board also adopted Local Option Budget Percentage Resolution 16-25 (motion by Chad Focke, seconded by Jason Rogers) by the same 7-0 vote. In addition, the board approved payments from the USD 316 Tuition Reimbursement program, payable from the Patterson Family Foundation Educator Development Grant: Jennie Pfanenstiel for $7,200 and Serena McCurdy for $3,300 (motion by Chad Wark, seconded by Chad Focke).
