Jervis council approves zone change to align school properties with public-facility zoning

"This is a public facility," Byron said, describing why the public-facility zoning is appropriate and noting there are no recommended conditions of approval for this cleanup-style change.
Sam Hock, a planner with 3J Consulting representing the applicant, said the seven tax lots total about 27.5 acres and that the district seeks the rezoning so future improvements will not require repeated conditional-use permitting. "We're just trying to align the zoning with the general plan," Hock said. The staff report lists the applicant as the Jervis School District; the notice in the record used the file label cited above.
Sandy Stevens, introduced herself as superintendent of the Missouri School District, spoke in support and thanked the council, noting recent bond passage will fund summer construction. No members of the public spoke in opposition; the record was closed at 7:42 p.m.
Councilor (unnamed in the record) moved to approve the zone-change application and adopt the findings in the staff report, directing staff to prepare an ordinance to enact the map amendment. The motion was seconded, and the council voted unanimously to approve the change. Staff said it will return at the next regular meeting with an ordinance to implement the rezoning.
