Planning Commission authorizes sewage planning module for Meyers Subdivision and advises potential applicant on driveway waiver

The Chanceford Township Planning Commission on March 17 authorized township staff to complete the Sewage Planning Module (4A) for Adam and Laura Koons’ Meyers Subdivision and advised another prospective applicant on waiver options to avoid driveway reconstruction.
Commissioner Douglas King moved to authorize the Secretary and Township Engineer to complete the Sewage Planning Module for the Meyers Subdivision; Ross Strack seconded and the motion carried. The authorization directs staff to prepare the module necessary for PA DEP review and any required local processing.
Separately, Laura Seitz appeared to discuss a possible subdivision. Seitz said she has a signed road maintenance/right-of-way agreement with adjoining property owners. The commission recommended she request a waiver from the Board of Supervisors of the 25-foot driveway/cartway requirement because the existing cartway is 16 feet and would not require constructing and maintaining the wider cartway. If the Supervisors grant the waiver, the commission advised Seitz to contact an engineer or surveyor to proceed.
What happens next
The Sewage Planning Module completion allows staff to move the Meyers Subdivision forward toward DEP review as applicable. Any driveway-width waiver for Seitz must be sought from and granted by the Board of Supervisors before the Planning Commission can accept a finalized plan that relies on the narrower cartway.
