City staff told the Gold Hill City Council that the city’s Transportation and Growth Management (TGM) program application was selected to advance to the next stage, a development staff described as an "exciting award" that would help the city score higher for regional transportation grant distributions.
“we just got this letter, at the end of last week advising that we were selected to move forward to the next stage,” the city manager said, explaining that the TGM award will support a local street network plan that can improve Gold Hill’s ranking for Mid Rogue Metropolitan Planning Organization grant distribution.
Staff said the grant requires a local match of about $21,000. The city manager said she has been assigned as project manager and that staff time and public-engagement work will be applied as the city’s match; the manager added a light-hearted remark that the match is covered largely by staff time.
Staff estimated completion of planning work by June 2027 and thanked Dan Moore and Ryan McLaren of the Rogue Valley Council of Governments for assistance on the application. The council did not take final action at this meeting; staff will proceed with next steps and return with a project schedule.
