Chair Smith volunteered to serve as the planning-commission representative on the Gladstone Library Reuse Envisioning Committee and commissioners agreed the primary appointment will be Chair Smith with Commissioners Carlson and Langston serving as backups if scheduling conflicts arise. The commission asked that representatives provide brief updates to the full commission after community-engagement meetings.
During business from the commission members raised a separate operational item about an electronically lit sign that had been permitted under a building/electrical permit but had not initially come through planning review; staff said the sign owner agreed to slow and dim the display to comply with code and that inspectors will check it as part of the permit inspection process.
There was no public testimony on these administrative items. The commission adjourned at 7:53 p.m.
